Do you feel like there are certain times in your life — or even in your day — when you just lack motivation? Whether it’s while working out, completing an assignment or cleaning the house, we all have those times when all we want to do is flop across our beds and stare out the window. Or maybe you’d prefer to grab a snack, get under the covers and watch Lifetime all day? Either way, I don’t judge because I’m victim to the same thing every now and again. While I know how important these lazy days, hours or minutes can be for our mental happiness, sometimes all we need is the correct weapons in our arsenal in order to trudge on and get the job done. Here are a few ways I get my own motivation back:
• Take your vitamins. Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12 — you name it, you need it! Once you’re in a solid daily routine of taking vitamins, I promise you’ll notice that your unmotivated slumps will become few and far between.
• Drink a ton more water than you normally would. Our bodies are made up of primarily water and most of us don’t get the proper water intake. Start pounding glass after glass and not only will you look more energized, you’ll feel it, too.
• Get some sunshine. I know this isn’t easy for some of us during certain times of year, but when you can take advantage of a little sunshine on your face and fresh oxygen in your lungs, the extra Vitamin D boost will do you wonders.
• Just start. Begin whatever it is you need to get done. It’s always the effort to get where you need to go or start what you need to start that’s the most daunting. Plant your butt in the chair in front of your computer or put on your running shoes — or whatever it is you need to do — to start the process. … Just do it. Once the ball is rolling, you’re golden. Remind yourself how good it will feel when you’re done with what you needed to accomplish and off you can go.
What are some motivating tips you have that I can add to my list?
Have a bedtime and get plenty of rest. Make healthy diet choices.
Music music music is my motivation! Crank up those tunes..throw in those earbuds and I’m good to go..plus it drowns out the kids!
I definitely agree with everything you said. Especially taking your vitamins and drinking more water. I have to force myself to drink it! As for the vitamins, I am fifty, so I need a vitamin to stay healthier! I found I am sick a lot less doing these things. After all I may be getting older but I also want to get better.
Taking vitamins is HUGE for me. I take Vitamin C, E and B Complex. If I skip a day, I feel it. I need my energy! And of course, blasting music when I need to do something I can do at the house always gets me going?
I would day take the time to visualize your goals for the day, get the brain mentally ready for reward!
I think Jenny is one beautiful looking woman !
Have sex on regular bases either with yourself or with a lover(s). It’s an amazing creativity boost. When i feel stuck in working on a business idea, I know an awesome way to find a creative solution.
Karolina,

Getting up early and getting a jump on the day and the projects you have planned– that way you don’t give procrastination or dread a chance to creep into your schedule!
I have never really been one to take vitamins but I think I am going to try that, I definitely agree with lots of water I love Smart Water, plus think of the end goal how good you will feel when the project is finished…then you will probably have the best night sleep with no worries.
If I’m at work, I will put my headphones on and turn on my iPod, music keeps me focused on what needs to get done and drowns out the noise around me. If I’m at home I plug my iPod into my stereo and turn the music up!
Get everything done efficiently you have more time for your partner like maybe clean in the nude ? Good motivation ?
Cold morning shower… It gets the energy going!
Yes, this happens often! I’m constantly having to “pick up” as a mom/wife of 3 boys. I also work part-time. What helps me, besides healthy diet/exercise, is to tackle the necessary housework the first thing in the morning. I also have one day a week usually Mondays (but it could be any day) to slack off for a few hours…watch a movie, take a nap, sit out in the sun, long shower/bath or do something you like to do when you deserve a break…it can be anything as long as it makes you feel like you are relaxing and not working! It really helps to get that “me” time and refresh yourself, trust me. 🙂
Do as much as you can to help others, that’s definitely going to help you about feeling good with yourself! ?
Love this! Thanks Jenny!
So bizarre !!! I just was told my Vit D levels were low AF.. And my thyroid was elevated. I took for granted how simple it is to take these baby steps as I had been doing b4 summer ,and when I stopped I plummeted downhill. I picked up scripts for high dose D3 and I can’t wait to stop feeling like death becomes her!!?
I find it is very hard to get modification with having an under active thyroid expecially when I was a kid. Now that I am older, yes I see old habits, of much you stated in your blog. For motivation I find surrounding myself with positive people and having a job you enjoy going to helps out a lot. Making plans ahead of time and bring a change of clothes, so that right when you get out, go out! once I get home I put on PJ’S and that’s it… its very hard to get back out. Also look at your current relationship… is there a routine? You might find that excuse to save money and instead of spending $10 on a movie you just watch your dvr. Awesome for here and there and cuddle nights but buy the tickets and that way it makes you go out. Plan ahead and it makes you commit is my suggestion hope it works for you
Just go for a little walk, it usually turns out to be a long walk. Makes you feel so much better.
Jenny is the most sexiest woman alive
I use essential oils daily! They help boost your immune system among other things. Also have a salt lamp on next to all of our beds. They work great for fatigue, allergies, and many more things!
YES! I can totally relate to this and thank you for the outstanding tips!
