I love reading the responses and reactions I get from all of you when you read my blog each week. Setting aside some time every week to sit down and write a blog is one of my favorite ways to spend “me time.” I love being able to share tips, give advice and almost feel like I’m just chatting with a friend while I write — it’s kind of like free therapy.
There are so many different ways for people to express themselves and I think writing is one of the best ways to clear your head. Whether it’s a blog, a diary entry or even a song, it’s so therapeutic to be able to record your thoughts and opinions. Even if you don’t share it with anyone, just getting all of those ideas out of your head and onto paper is such a good feeling.
So pick up a pen and paper — or just start typing. Write about the good, the bad and the ugly — you might surprise yourself with how much you enjoy it. And if you do decide to give it a try, tweet me a link so I can read it!
Other than writing, what are some ways you like to express yourself?
Sometimes I am so happy and lucky that I have been a stay at home mom for 5 years. Then other days like this morning, when trying to get 3 kids ages 5-10 out of the house on time for school I could just CRY…. Been stressed, tired, upset and overwhelmed a lot lately.. there, had to write that down and get that off my chest.. Thanks..
Happy Thanksgiving Jenny
Love this Jenny! I try to write in my journal once a week and I find it very soothing and also helps me in figuring out any issues I am ignoring or didn’t realize were bothering me about myself or with others I interact with. I also write poetry and I find that to be fun and allows my creative juices to flow. Besides writing I also paint from time to time just for fun. As always love your advice and wishing you well.
Cheers Tray
Scrapbook, adult coloring book.
Love reading your thoughts, but love your laugh more, ?????
I love adult coloring books. It’s very soothing.
I love reading your blogs, you make me smile, laugh, cry, and sometimes all three! I love drawing, I am pretty terrible at it, but it is so relaxing for me. X
Hi Jenny, You are a doll! Keep up the good work.
I have been journaling everyday since I could after my stroke, whether it was 1 word or 5 pgs, it gets everything out, & lifts the bad, & gives you a memory of great times to go back & relive them(ps. You have a starring role in quite a few of the great times)
I try to get crafty sometimes, adult coloring.. And just recently getting creative with a jingle for a certain someone..haha…
words and how I say things
Adult coloring book, used to have a journal but my daughter wanted to keep wanting to read it.
I so believe if you don’t want to share thoughts with others just keep a journal and definitely write. I as well enjoying reading and listening to music, I tell my kids when they get on my last nerve (lol) “That mommy needs a time out” Hahaha that’s me in my room enjoying quiet time reading, writing or clearing my thoughts. It works cause they won’t bug me for 30 min =) I deserve to be sent in my room =D
I love writing. Cooking and baking are a huge passion of mine. I also want to get those adult coloring books, but I just can’t get the money saved enough. I used to love to sit and color when I was little, it took away the pains I felt with being sick all the time. But cooking and baking are how I express my love for my friends and family 🙂
Jenny, I’m just trying to get a hold of you to see if you could emcee a charity gala for a domestic violence shelter in wheaton.
I’ve been blogging nearly 7 years, I’ve made a small income from it actually ?
Jenny: Great topic and suggestions. Want to thank you also for being the wonderful mother and for being so selfless as to put your son’s story out there to help other people. God bless you and your family!
I have been known to surprise my husband with a completely rearranged house or a newly painted wall! Sometimes you just got to change it up! That line from tomb raider..” I woke up this morning and just hated everything.” Painting cooking redecorating.. Whatever gets the funk out of your head or heart!
Hi Jenny–just realized my previous comment was off topic–so here goes: when I get really depressed I buy a new bedspread–gives me a whole new lease on life! If that fails, I buy a new sweater or change my brand of body wash!
Besides writing, reading and colouring is my fave these days :))
You and Donnie seem to be very happy with you lives. I am a senior lady retired, I am 66 year young and would love to meet a nice gentleman to enhance my life.
I actually joined a dating website. What a horror story. Ugh.
Well, Good Luck with your life Jenny and Donnie, You are both blessed to have found each other.
I know your mom from work. we retired at the same time and I would love to talk to her. We had nice chats in the morning at Bridgeview. It a shame we lost contact.
